I am a Christian; yet I don’t
consider myself a “Good Christian”
Sometimes I swear (badly), my relationship with people is not always textbook fantastic and sometimes I struggle with negative thoughts. I do, however, know with 100% certainty that I am saved. I am saved by God’s grace and through faith that comes from Him and I am deeply aware that nothing I do or don’t do can take away my salvation (Eph 2:8; Rom 11:29). As my love for God grows, I am becoming more aware of my own sinful nature and I am in awe of His kindness, His love and His patience with me.
The second thing you should know about me is that I strongly believe that marriage is a gift from God, a relationship He intended for us since creation. I have been married for 22 years and when I got married my mom said, “Marriage is hard work” and she was right. I also believe marriage, as God intended, is under severe attack in the time we are living in.

You should also know that I have moved a lot, more than anyone I have ever met. Moving so much has played a major role in my life, some good and others not so much. I have a severe fondness for English Bull Terriers, I am a complete Bird Nerd and I love camping, scuba diving and basically anything that gives a bit of an adrenalin rush. I used to be a dietician and after I stopped practicing, I completed my degree in theology. I have just completed a bridging course to enable me to do an honours degree in Christian Counselling.

because I know life isn’t easy
I know the pain of not being able to have children, I know the pain of multiple and severe loss, I know how it feels to be incredibly lonely, and I know how it feels to be completely overwhelmed and to feel death would be easier than life. Through this I have learned so much about myself and about God’ s grace, love and mercy and if I can encourage only one person to fight another day, I will be blessed.
